I never saw anything in this article saying that Bell wasn't interested in converting people. He complained about what I will call "hit and run" evangelists who aren't in it for Jesus but for a selfish "feel good" sort of thing. He went on to explain that he wants the message to come through living out a "full humanity." I'm not so sure this isn't the same message that you believe in - evangelism as a lifestyle.
Jeff, I understand your complaint, but be careful not to put words into the mouths of others. I'm not so sure that Jesus is too happy with all of our criticism towards other believers. I heard someone recently say they wanted to be a "film maker" rather than a "film critic." In my years of ministry it hold true that those out front doing the work (like film makers) of the Gospel are usually the same ones being critiqued.
I hope you can receive this through the filter of love that I truly intend to be sprinkled throughout.
